Macau Pass / MPay (澳門通)Macao’s dominant contactless prepaid card (Transmac and TCM buses, the LRT since 2022, convenience stores, vending machines, parking lots), extended into the MPay mobile wallet. It is the main local payment method competing with Alipay and WeChat Pay, which ride on mainland Chinese tourism.Macau Pass S.A. · since 1999

Wallets
BOC Pay (澳門)Macau’s counterpart to Hong Kong’s BoC Pay: QR payments at local merchants and on the mainland, over the UnionPay QR and NUCC networks. It is the main bank channel competing with the Macau Pass/MPay prepaid offering, and the entry point for mainland QR payments in Macau.Bank of China Limited, Macau Branch (Bank of China’s Macau branch, one of the two note-issuing banks for the pataca; the service is built into the “BOC Macau App”)
UePay (澳門錢包)Macao's second local e-wallet, alongside Macau Pass / MPay. The AMCM register lists only four payment institutions in the entire territory, one of which has not started operating. The Macao market is therefore small and closed, and a PSP entering it needs to factor that into its plans. The register does not support the link to the UnionPay group that is sometimes claimed.Uepay Macao Limited (registered as a payment institution in the AMCM (Macao's monetary authority) register of other financial institutions)
Interoperable QR
聚易用 Simple Pay (Pagamento Simples)Macao's aggregated QR system. The monetary authority has local banks and payment institutions interconnect their systems so that a merchant can accept every local QR payment method with a single terminal or a single QR display stand, while customers pay with whatever method they choose. The pitch to merchants: no more multiple devices and simpler reconciliation. The official scope covers LOCAL QR payment methods only. Do not assume it aggregates mainland Chinese wallets.Autoridade Monetária de Macau (the monetary authority oversees the arrangement; local banks and payment institutions connected to it handle execution)
